Grammar: In fourth grade, we continued to study the parts of speech, including nouns, verbs, adjectives, adverbs, pronouns, and prepositions. We learned how to identify these parts of speech in sentences and how to use them correctly when we write. We also studied subjects and predicates, clauses and phrases, and basic sentence structures. I learned that grammar is like the foundation of a house - it's essential for strong communication.
Vocabulary: My vocabulary expanded significantly this year, thanks to reading challenging books and using online dictionaries and thesauruses. I learned many new words, and I was encouraged to use them in my speaking and writing. This has helped me to be more articulate and confident when expressing myself.
Reading comprehension: In fourth grade, we started reading passages that were more complex and longer than what we had read in earlier years. We learned how to find the main idea, identify supporting details, and make inferences based on what we read. We also practiced reading strategies such as visualizing, making connections, and asking questions. I learned that reading comprehension is not just about decoding words, but also about understanding and interpreting what we read.
Writing: This year, we wrote many essays, stories, and poems. We learned about the writing process, from brainstorming and outlining to drafting and revising. We also studied different genres of writing, such as narrative, descriptive, informative, and persuasive. I learned that writing can be a form of self-expression, but it also requires discipline and patience.
Overall, my fourth-grade English experience has been challenging, but also rewarding. I have learned many new skills, and I have grown as a reader and writer. I look forward to continuing my English education and seeing w【传奇星座】here it takes me in the future.
